I believe the City has plenty of projects they can see through Council to help our city “progress” like the Fashion Plaza & the proposed development on the corner of Ramon & Palm Canyon, both of which I support.
They can also build the Hard Rock on the 8 acres around my building if they would like to.
Click on the photo below to show ( in orange ) the relatively small parcel we own compared to the overall 8 acres.

A new rock and roll hotel is NOT a 'resolution of necessity.'
When building your case compare lawful and just eminent domain cases involving public works and city services to another freakin' hotel in downtown Palm Springs that'll be as dead as that pink one in 10 years. Suggest they knock down one of the eyesores on Indian Canyon.
Good luck,
Kevin Anderson

This is why we should never sell our guns. Government is out of control and due to the way it is set up, no one is ever accountable. I suggest they knock down one of the turkish baths the mayor frequents instead.

As a local resident and realtor, I’m anticipating we’ll see a strong positive economic impact when Nexus brings the Hard Rock to town. Many local businesses are likely to enjoy an upswing, and I believe it’s important that the project keep moving ahead. Although it would be great if the city and Ms. Anderson could reach agreement, we’ve already seen eminent domain used here in the Coachella Valley to accomplish important economic projects. As I understand it, Cathedral City invoked eminent domain more than fifty times to secure the property needed to keep the Sheraton Resort and golf course project on track

Mr. Hinton,
If you look at the aerial map provided, there is a property of the same size not 2 blocks away. How about plopping that 90's hotel there instead of on top of a 40 year old business?

Unfortunately there are many people like Mr. Hinton who don't have all the facts.
This project can keep moving ahead as planned since this project was originally proposed on the 8 acres surrounding Lois Anderson.
They can still build their hotel and leave her property intact.
Mr. Hinton's comments are both ignorant and insensitive to a woman who has much more invested than just money in her property.

Mr. Hinton.... Where do I start. I too am a Broker, but the rights given to me and or you somehow supersede my own selfish personal interests. Your reasoning is the same crap used by the folks and investors out by the salton sea. The residents and investors around this mistake of a lake, now want the rest of us to bail them out, or make their property/investment worthwile. The plan to save the salton sea now uses 500,000 acre feet of fresh water per year. How much is that? Well that just happens to be enough water to supply 500,000 homes per year at 2.8 residents per household with water. MORE then all the homes currently in the Coachella Valley. A joke of a plan for sure, but maybe Mr. Hinton can sell a home there and make a $5,000 commission. As a life long resident like Ms. Anderson, I just have the proper perspective on all this. Palm Springs used to be such a nice city when I was a kid. It's pretty much a gay destination resort now. Families now flock to Palm Desert or elsewhere because of many reasons not related to the lack of a Hard Rock Hotel. Wake up!
